Track Description:
We finally were able to secure a huge covered parking lot for us to have a semi-permanent location where we ran for about a year. Summer of 2006 ended with the club loosing the sublease we had on the parking lot due to a new lease being signed which no longer permitted subletting. OH NO, where are we going to go!!!
We hooked up with SpeedWorld Raceway in Roseville, a permanent onroad course which has hosted the 3 R.O.A.R. electric onroad nationals as well as manufacturer sponsored race events! SpeedWorld had never run nitro at the facility, but River City RC and Billy Bowerman of SpeedWorld got together to have River City RC run the first NITRO program at SpeedWorld. We run every Sunday from 9am to 6pm with races at least once a month (other Sundays are open practice with a couple of heats thrown in). We are now starting the 2007 Nitro Onroad Touring Car Points Series Races being held at SpeedWorld and Vallejo Nitro R/C or VRC for short. We are looking forward to hosting some major races in 2007. River City RC and Speedworld are open every weekend with racing dependent on the weather.
| It is our mission to provide a safe, friendly, helpful environment to accommodate r/c hobbyists of all ages and skills. We all started this hobby as a beginner and we do not forget that fact! We encourage new racers, young or old, to come out to our track to join a group of people who love to help others out and by doing so we promote the hobby! Our track is frequented often by Mugen, Serpent, and Kyosho factory drivers who are there to share the wealth of experience and knowledge with the racers around them. The forum (http://rivercityrc.org/forum/sitenews.asp) also has a wealth of information! We have frequent pizza days at the track as well. |
Basically River City RC is here to provide r/c enthusiasts a fun friendly atmosphere to run their nitro r/c onroad cars. SpeedWorld Raceway is the place to race. Both River City RC and SpeedWorld Roseville are members of R.O.A.R. (radio operated auto racing) – the governing body of r/c cars in the United States.
Come join us!!!
Is there anything you have learnt that has improved things at your club or track?
Being consistent in how you deal with others!!!
Any disasters that you have come across?
Not so far!!!!
Any advice for other clubs/tracks?
Be consistent in everything you do! That is the key to success in this business. Give the people what they want and continue to provide for those in the future. Check with the other neighboring tracks about race schedules to make sure that when you plan your races you aren’t in conflict with anyone else. Find a sister track or club to partner with – hold series races. LISTEN to the opinions of others, but act in the manner that best suits the situation.
Welcome to the River City RC website. Here you find links for all your nitro/electric onroad r/c fun! 2007 marks big changes for River City RC. We have formed a partnership with SpeedWorld Raceway in Roseville, California to run a nitro 1:10 scale onroad racing program. We now have a permanent home at Northern California's premier permanent onroad track which has hosted the ROAR Onroad Nationals three times, as well as other manufacturer cup races. We will be holding both club and points series races in 2007. We are working on some factory cup events as well for 2007. Check out the forum for the latest news and updates!
River City RC is a radio control car hobby club located in Sacramento, Califonia. We have our own track materials and a brand new AMBrc timing system for racing. This site is for the promotion of r/c hobbies and the gathering together of friends and racers. We strive to bring you the best information out on the web regarding nitro onroad racing and we have an extensive links library for almost anything imagineable!
We are a member of R.O.A.R. (radio operated auto racing), the governing body of r/c racing in the United States. What that means to you is - it ensures you are visiting a track that meets all the requirements set out, has all the neccessary insurance, and will provide to you the best possible experience. We strive to maintain a friendly and enjoyable onroad course that caters to r/c car enthusiasts of ALL levels and provides a safe environment to run radio control cars that will bring you back again and again. To drive on our track you MUST be a R.O.A.R. member and present your card. If you are not a member yet, we can provide you with either a per race membership of $15 or an annual membership for $30. R.O.A.R. memberships allows you to practise and race at ALL track facilities across the nation (and is required at almost every track)!
We hold club races at least once a month and our AMBrc timing system is always at the track so that even during practise sessions people can see how they are doing. To be able to race and be timed you will need an AMB transponder which can be found online or at some of the local hobby shops. All results are then posted online in our race or practise results section of this website.
